Alex Son is a 25-year-old queer Cambodian American with an NYU master's in public administration, and is a dedicated advocate. His work in not-for-profit organizations covers environmental racism, indigenous womxn's issues, and HIV/AIDS. In 2019, Alex was awarded through the Fullbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad (GAP) Program to participate in a linguistic and cultural program where he intertwined a research internship with the Analyzing Development Issues Center conducting participatory action research in Cambodia to build civic engagement and youth leadership. Alex currently serves as the Prevention Program Manager at Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center, where he oversees HIV, PrEP, Hep C, and Outreach Programs. In his free time, Alex enjoys computer games, volleyball, and is writing a book on his journey as a Khmer son navigating queerness and HIV.
