Miriam Bonano is originally from the Dominican Republic and Spanish is her first language. Miriam came to the United States at age 23 and obtained her B.A. degree from Lehman College in Bronx, NY. Miriam is currently a Program Supervisor and expert in HIV prevention with over 15 years of experience. In the last 13 years, she has managed various initiatives at the NYU Family Health Centers to improve HIV and Hepatitis services in the network. Throughout her career, she has successfully managed and implemented numerous programs to improve HIV prevention services and Hepatitis B / C screening and linkage to care for high-risk and marginalized population in Brooklyn, New York.
