Ansi A. Rodriguez is a Bronx native dominicano from Burnside Ave who’s always held a passion for creativity. Discovering his passion at the early age of 4, he’s grown to understand that his mission as an artist lies more in telling inclusive stories of possibility for the youth like him that he wasn’t able to witness growing up. After working in the first ever community theatre production of In The Heights (Sonny), he realized that it was possible to tell OUR stories and continued in to make art relevant to his experience as a Queer biopic creative; later being seen in plays such as Vámonos (Junior) and Los Nutcrackers: El Christmas Carajo (The Guide). Today, Ansi can be seen being a Direct Support Professional for the special needs community at Mercy Drive Inc, assisting the Youth in debunking political apathy to amplify their voices in this country with the Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation, and founding Dragon Events NYC, a Community gaming space service for the queer community at Vice Versa Bar in Hells Kitchen. Gratefully, he is still finding the time and effort to work together with other queer biopic artist to diversity and strengthen our narrative that has always existed. With immense gratitude and humility, Ansi wishes to continue to spread the wealth of love, light, and compassion that was granted to him throughout his journey and is excited to be able to become that same beacon of possibility in the journey to come.
