This study assessed the relationship between social vulnerability and demographic characteristics on time to antiretroviral initiation and HIV viral suppression among persons newly diagnosed with HIV (PNDWH). Overall, ARV initiation within seven days of HIV diagnosis was associated with viral suppression within 90 days of diagnosis. When stratified by Social Vulnerability Index SVI quartiles, the relationship between time to ARV initiation and viral suppression was similar for individuals in the most (RR=1.56 (95% CI:1.31-1.87)) and least (RR=1.58 (95% CI:1.28-1.95)) vulnerable quartiles. Individuals assigned female sex-at-birth, those with a history of injection drug use, newly diagnosed individuals who were non-Hispanic Black, and those living in the Long Island and Hudson Valley Ryan White Regions were less likely to start treatment within seven days of diagnosis when compared to their comparison groups.
