Clayton Lord (Clay, he/him) is the Senior Program Director for the SHRM Foundation, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm of SHRM. The Foundation works to widen pathways to economic prosperity and help people and businesses thrive by driving employers to adopt policies and practices that improve outcomes for workers, businesses, and communities. In his role, Clay oversees strategy, program development and delivery, partnerships, and evaluation, with a particular focus on translating research and promising ideas into scalable employer practice change. He is a social impact executive with expertise in designing, nurturing, and evaluating complex initiatives that expand economic opportunity, improve the experience of work, and drive systemic change. Clay holds a B.A. in English and Psychology from Georgetown University. He lives with his husband and daughter in Maryland.
