In this workshop, participants will gain a brief historical perspective and learn about the epidemiology of mpox leading up to the global outbreak in 2022 and through the present. The presenter will review findings from The IMAGINE Study to illustrate the impact of HIV and mpox stigma on psychosocial well-being and healthcare access among gay, bisexual, and other MSM in New York City diagnosed with mpox. The workshop will review social determinants of health and stigma frameworks to examine the roots of HIV and mpox stigma, with the goal of identifying stigma reduction strategies and practices.
