Transforming Food Systems: From Pilots to Policy

CUNY Graduate Center, Proshansky Auditorium

Improvements in public health policy typically happen gradually—the result of years of gathering evidence, building coalitions, advocating for policy, and communicating about the changes. In recent years, the COVID-19 pandemic pushed the public health community to revisit longstanding practices and rapidly implement new policies. In New York, new policies helped to reduce food insecurity and improve the quality of food that public institutions serve. While there has been significant progress, there is more work ahead to connect New Yorkers with the food they need to thrive.

Join the New York Health Foundation (NYHealth) for an in-person conference to learn about opportunities for large and small groups to participate in the policy process and ensure the public health community is well-positioned to secure future food policy wins.
