Final Plenary: Responding to Syndemics in Drug User Health

Description
People who use drugs are disproportionately impacted by emerging and ongoing syndemics, including the opioid epidemic, viral hepatitis, HIV, soft tissue infections, and mass incarceration as a result of the ongoing war on drugs. Communities, organizations, and individuals who serve people who use drugs have implemented unique and multifaceted strategies to address syndemics and improve health outcomes amongst this population. Panelists will discuss these emerging services and modalities, from drug-checking to wrap-around service access.
