2025 Stakeholder Summit on New York State’s Nursing Workforce

The 2025 NYS Nursing Summit will include leaders, educators, employers, and researchers from across the state in describing the specific characteristics of nursing workforce shortages, sharing knowledge of resources and successful strategies for addressing the workforce crisis, and developing plans for further action to increase recruitment and retention of nurses in New York State. This summit structure creates a logical progression from understanding the problem (morning) to exploring solutions (afternoon), while incorporating multiple opportunities for participant input and engagement.

Engagement
In registering for this conference, you are agreeing to participate in the interactive elements of the meeting, which include:

Conference App: Facilitates ongoing discussions, Q&A, polling, and topic threads
Table Rotations: Structured movement between table groups to maximize networking
Walk About Questions: Question boards with sticky notes during lunch for participant input
Data Collection: Table conversations to gather stakeholder experiences and inform future initiatives

To expose participants to diverse perspectives and maximize networking opportunities, we will implement table rotation throughout the event. At designated times, participants will be prompted to move to a new table group. This rotation systems ensures everyone has a chance to connect and share ideas across the full spectrum of our community. Embrace the opportunity to expand your professional network.

To foster engagement and collaboration, we will use a conference app for discussions. We encourage all participants to download the app, create a profile, and actively participate in topic threads, Q&A, and session polling. Session facilitators will direct key questions to the app and the Department will highlight valuable contributions through the day and provide a summary of our findings after the conference.
